4 Spark Hire Alternatives for Small Hiring Teams

Compare MyPitch, Hireflix, Willo, and Jobma as Spark Hire alternatives. See interview formats, pricing commitments, review outputs, and practical trade-offs.

Three screening activities: collecting recorded responses, running an interview, and reviewing the evidence.

Editorial illustration generated with AI. These are workflow concepts, not product screenshots.

A team can remove every scheduling email from its first-round interviews and still spend Friday watching candidate videos. Another team can have excellent interview summaries but no time to conduct the calls that produce them.

Those are different problems. They need different Spark Hire alternatives.

Before comparing subscriptions, identify the work you want to change: collecting answers, conducting the first conversation, or reviewing the evidence. A cheaper way to collect video will not necessarily remove the interviewing or review work.

This guide compares four alternatives for small hiring teams: MyPitch, Hireflix, Willo, and Jobma. The recommendation depends on the bottleneck, the format candidates will use, and the commitment required to test it.

Start with the work Spark Hire already does

Spark Hire is more than a video inbox. Its video interview offering includes one-way and live interviews, scorecards, sharing, and integrations. Its AI features include transcription, response summaries, and scoring. The public starting prices are $299 month-to-month or $249 per month billed annually; company size affects pricing. That makes “we need AI summaries” an incomplete reason to switch. A more useful requirement is specific: “We need candidates to complete a conversational first screen without a recruiter present,” or “We hire twice a year and want less recurring cost.”

MyPitch fits teams that need the first conversation conducted

The question for this category is whether a human must be present for the screen.

In MyPitch, the hiring team defines the interview and invites candidates. Candidates complete a live AI interview in their browser. The resulting report stays connected to the transcript and recording, so a reviewer can investigate the answers behind an advisory recommendation. The team decides whom to advance. The setup screen makes a useful distinction. Structured interview uses a predefined question list. AI-led interview, currently labeled Beta in the inspected interface, lets the AI choose questions within an interview frame. Those modes offer different degrees of question control; a team should choose deliberately.

For a small team screening support or sales applicants, the attraction is the change in staffing: a team member can review a completed interview instead of attending each first screen. That still leaves preparation, evidence review, candidate communication, and later human interviews.

Shortlist MyPitch when: conducting repetitive first-round conversations is the constraint. Inspect a sample report and test whether its evidence supports your next interview.

Check another option first when: the must-have requirement is an existing phone-call recorder, a full ATS, or a specific native integration. Do not assume that a report-sharing link provides those capabilities.

Hireflix fits teams that want simpler response collection

Hireflix concentrates on one-way video interviews. The Small plan includes unlimited seats, positions, and responses; its published annual price is $75 per month for companies below 50 employees. The feature list includes transcripts, ratings, comments, and shared responses. Source: Hireflix pricing and features.

This is a sensible shortlist choice when the team already knows what to ask and wants candidates to respond without scheduling. The interviewer prepares the questions rather than relying on a live AI conversation to select them.

The evaluation should include the work after collection. Ask two reviewers to process the same sample responses and compare the time needed to reach a justified next-step decision. Unlimited responses help with capacity, but do not tell you how much review time your particular interview will require.

Willo fits occasional hiring, with a tier check

Willo Lite charges $59 per live role for the roles used each month. The page lists up to five live roles, five users, and 150 assessed candidates per live role. Its Enterprise offering is positioned for more continuous hiring. Source: Willo pricing, USD view.

The billing unit matters: a live role in a month, not a one-time payment for the entire lifetime of a vacancy. A role left open across billing periods can change the total.

Confirm which review features come with the quoted tier. Willo's page directs buyers seeking its Intelligence summaries, benchmarks, and insights toward Enterprise. A low entry price should not be treated as proof that every AI feature is included.

Willo belongs on the shortlist when hiring is intermittent and structured asynchronous responses fit the process. Request a demonstration of the exact output available on the plan you would buy.

Jobma fits a broader interview and assessment requirement

Jobma's autonomous interview product lets hiring teams define initial questions and evaluation parameters, while AI asks adaptive follow-ups. Its official description also allows a human interviewer to take over a live AI interview. Recordings and transcripts support subsequent review. Source: Jobma autonomous AI interviewing.

That is relevant if a narrow one-way video replacement will not cover your process. Jobma also offers other interview and assessment formats, with custom-priced packages. Source: Jobma plans.

The practical trade-off is scope. Get a written list of the required formats, assessment types, users, and integrations before comparing a quote with a self-serve product. Test whether adaptive questioning supplies useful missing context; a longer conversation alone is not evidence of a better screen.

Compare commitment and review time in the same example

Consider an illustrative scenario, not a customer case: a company with fewer than 50 employees needs 50 completed screens for one role in one month. It has not yet used any free offers.

The table below deliberately compares the paid starting commitment, excluding trials, free credits, discounts, taxes, and optional add-ons. It is not a feature-equivalent cost ranking.

OptionPublished pricing applied to the scenarioWhat can change the result
MyPitch Growth pack$187.50 upfront for 50 interview creditsUnused credits and future interview volume; current free starter offer excluded
Spark Hire monthly starting planFrom $299 for one monthCompany-size pricing, add-ons, and how long the subscription stays active
Hireflix Small annual plan$75 × 12 = $900 annual commitmentMonthly billing is a different offer; annual capacity may be useful across many roles
Willo Lite$59 for one live role used in that monthFurther months, role count, limits, and tier-dependent features
JobmaQuote requiredPurchased capabilities and contract terms

Now add human work. If reviewing 50 responses takes six minutes each, that is five hours. At an assumed $40 per hour, the review component is $200. These are hypothetical inputs, not a measured result for any product. Preparation, interviews, and follow-up time would add to them.

Record those minutes in your pilot. A subscription can be cheaper while the overall workflow takes longer, or cost more while solving a bottleneck that matters to the business.

Run a pilot that can disprove your preferred choice

Start with a small set of clearly labeled internal test interviews. Use the same role criteria on each shortlisted system, with examples that are clear, incomplete, and ambiguous. This tests the workflow without making applicants complete duplicate screens just for a vendor comparison.

Have reviewers answer five questions:

  1. Can we configure the questions and criteria we actually need?
  2. Can a reviewer find the source behind an important summary claim?
  3. How does the system represent an unanswered question or uncertain evidence?
  4. How much human time is required from setup through review?
  5. What happens when a candidate cannot complete the chosen format?

For the selected tool, follow with a limited real-role pilot and measure completion, support requests, review time, and whether the report improves the next human conversation. A faster screen that creates more clarification calls may simply move the work downstream.

If the constraint is conducting first-round conversations, start with five free MyPitch interviews. If the constraint is response collection, include Hireflix or Willo. If your requirements span several interview and assessment formats, include Jobma. Keep Spark Hire in the comparison if its current workflow already meets the need.

The useful switch is the one that removes your team's specific bottleneck while preserving the evidence needed for a human decision.
